September Starts Tomorrow. Here's How to Begin.

It's the last day of the summer holidays. Tomorrow the term starts, the diary resets, and for about a week everyone in Amersham is open to doing things differently. That window is short.

If you've read this blog through August — the fear of being the worst person in the room, the two hours, what a year of meaning to costs — and recognised yourself, then all that's left is a small decision.

Four things this week.

Book the chat. Fifteen minutes, free, no obligation, with Jeremy or Beth. A conversation about what you want and whether we're the right fit. If we're not, we'll say so. The whole first step, sitting down, with a cup of tea, nobody watching.

Pick your two sessions and put them in the diary for September. Not "a few times a week." Two named slots, this week, before term fills the calendar. Defend them like they belong to someone else — because they do.

Get to bed. Both alarms, from tonight. The 4:45 one only works if the 9pm one does.

Do the shop. Seven dinners, seven proteins, in the trolley first. The week that starts with a full fridge is the week that survives.

None of it requires you to be fit, or ready, or to have sorted anything else out first.

The thing I most want you to take from a month of writing: Nobody who walks in here is ready. Not one. Every person currently training at CrossFit Chiltern arrived nervous, unfit by their own account, convinced they were the exception who'd be too old or too heavy or too far gone. They were all wrong, in the same way, for the same reasons.

What we do here is life changing. I've seen it every week for ten years, and I want more people to find what our members have — that at forty-five, or fifty-five, or sixty-five, you can get measurably, provably stronger, and that it changes far more than your body.

The routine resets tomorrow whether you use it or not. You won't get a cleaner run at this until January.

Come and start with us.

If the thought of walking into a gym makes you wince, this is exactly who we built the place for. Book a free, no-obligation 15-minute chat with Jeremy or Beth at crossfitchiltern.com — no hard sell, and most of us hadn't trained in years when we started. We'll build a plan around your life, not a generic template.
